Two houses completed!!
We are thrilled to announce that we have completed both of our Jeannette projects and families have moved in!
Project 14 was acquired several years ago through a foreclosure. The house had not been well maintained and required a significant amount of demolition and rebuilding. We rely on a lot of volunteer labor to help keep our costs down and it was a slow process but demolition was finally completed by the spring of 2016. After several months of build out with our dedicated volunteers we handed the project over to a professional contractor for the last of the finishing work. We were thrilled to hand over the keys on January 11, ,2017.
Project 15 was donated by a local family and the home had been well maintained. Our volunteers kicked off the spring with a lot of cleaning and stripped out the old floor coverings. There was carpet everywhere! Once the house was stripped down our awesome volunteers tackled a bathroom update, and minor repairs across the house. With the help of an electrician, HVAC technician, carpet installers and our contractor we got everything up to code and looking beautiful. The keys were a day late for Christmas, but we still managed to get the partner-family in before the end of the year.
